Genoa Township Car Accident

I read in the paper today about a tragic Genoa Township Car Accident on Grand River Avenue near Pless the other day. According to Michigan State Police, a 21-year-old Howell man allegedly collided with another car, spinning off the road and into a day care center. The State Police preliminary investigation indicates that the Howell man did not see a GMC Envoy travelling towards him as he attempted to make a left turn.

Noone in the day care was hurt but the Howell man is in critical condition at University of Michigan Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the GMC Envoy was taken to the hospital and is listed in good condition. No word on any injuries he may have sustained. State Police continue to investigate this accident.

I am very sorry to hear about his tragic car accident and wish all the injured parties a speedy and full recovery.

Michigan car accident victims have a number of legal rights.  For this type of auto accident, the injured drivers can submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits.  No-Fault benefits will cover their medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident.  The injured drivers can claim these benefits even if they were at fault.

In addition, the injury victims may be able to file a lawsuit against the persons determined to be at fault in the auto accident.  The insurance company for the drivers must still cover any injuries. In this lawsuit, they can claim damages and compensation for the injuries suffered in the accident.  The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case.

An experienced Michigan car accident lawyer can assist the victim with this type of claim.  Accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.
