Motorcycle Accident Injures Lansing Biker
I read a tragic story about a Lansing man who was injured in a motorcycle accident yesterday between the border of Kent County and Ionia County. Apparently, the biker was struck by a another vehicle and this caused his motorcycle to overturn several times. The bike caught on fire and the man was trapped beneath it. Other drivers who witnessed the accident assisted in pulled him out from under his bike.
The biker was taken to Spectrum Butteworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment and is hospitalized for his injuries. My thoughts go out to him and his family and I hope that he has a quick and speedy recovery. I have great admiration for the other motorists who bravely pulled him from the wreckage and may have saved his life.
The accident victim and his family should be aware of his legal rights. Because this motorcycle accident involved contact with another vehicle, the biker is entitled to Michigan No-Fault Insurance benefits. This includes payment of medical expenses, lost wages, and other benefits. He may also have a claim against the motorist who caused the accident for his personal injuries. These include claims for pain and suffering, disability, scars and disfigurement, and other claims.
